IIAS Video Self-Rating: D

For too many reasons than I care to think about right now, I haven't made a new YouTube video in over nine months. The production timetables for multiple videos have all but disintegrated from lack of progress. It's not that I'm out of ideas, it's just that there are so many other important things I'm dealing with right now that I just don't have the time, neither that same original passion, to want to devote the time to do them. They don't exactly pay my bills.

Well now that I've made several recent strives to resurrect my dA account, I figure it's only a matter of time before I want to devote myself to my YouTube videos again. I'm already in the process of uploading a test video. It's a small afterthought compared to my other videos, but one must walk first before they can run. It's the first video that I've finished in a long time.

In the average production cycle of one of my videos, I give a great deal of consideration into almost every aspect of the video, including the kind of audience that I would want seeing them. When a video of mine has mature content, I create a customized warning still of the impending content. It probably doesn't make much of a difference, but I can at least say that I tried to draw the wrong crowd away from them.

As the return to YouTube becomes more probable by the day, I realize that I will have to adapt and change my policies on everything, including the format in which I warn my viewers of what awaits them. This is the first installment of the company's new self-rating directive. Since we won't be releasing our movies in the theaters, the MPAA will probably not be the ones to regulate our content ratings. We will have to police ourselves.

It includes a highly visible and easy to understand rating, and sub boxes for any additional information relevant to the video.
